Yoga has been central to my life since I started my personal practice over twenty years ago.

I'm originally from the US and have been residing in Essex, England for just over ten years.  I had the great luck of trying my first yoga class in New Jersey back in 1998,  when a new studio opened and a friend invited me to join her.    After about 6 years of personal practice, I decided to embark on my own 200 hour Yoga Alliance  teacher training with my teacher, Bobbie Ellis of Soma Yoga.   In 2012, I enrolled in yet another 200 hour teacher training course at Kaia Yoga in Westport,  Connecticut. In 2020, I completed my 500 hour advanced teacher training at Triyoga, in London.  I have been teaching regularly in Coggeshall and the surrounding Colne Valley since 2013. Most recently, I have been integrating Qi-Gong and Somatic movement into my yoga teaching as well. I also hold qualifications/certifications in Yoga for Children, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Mindfulness Meditation

Like most people, when I first started practicing yoga I was delighted with the physical benefit of the practice:   flexibility, strength, balance and stamina steadily developed.  I began to feel much more at-ease in my physical body.

However, as my practice began to deepen, I began to notice an emotional, mental, and spiritual development as well.   For me, what really sets yoga apart from other stretch/exercise classes is the philosophy, which has been paramount to the practice since it was first practiced in India.  I study these aspects of yoga carefully and make sure to bring elements of these teachings into all my classes.
